PERIOD 10 TUESDAY 11/24
Create a story that is 26 sentences long. Each sentence must begin with a consecutive letter of the alphabet. You do not have to start with "A". Do this in WORD and then cut/paste it into this blog. Give your story a title and sign your name at the bottom. AVOID simple sentences such as: Alvin had a party. Bill came. Charlie brought chips. Dylan brought soda. Edward Cullen showed up and bit everybody.

ReplyDeleteThe Bunny named Gimpy
Once upon a time there was a bunny named gimpy. He hopped everywhere. In the summer he would dig holes. Every afternoon he would run and play outside. But, sometimes he got scared when he heard loud noises. Lawnmowers and airplanes scared him the most. Around November 14th was his birthday. Jasper and Foo Foo were his parents. Chasing after lightning buds was one of his hobbies. Darla, my sister, loved playing with gimpy. Gimpy was the youngest one of his siblings. Holding on to him tightly, my mother would make sure gimpy was safe since he was hurt. I loved gimpy very much; he was one out of eight siblings. Kindling, gimpy accepted everyone who entered out house. Loving everyone he saw in his sight, he was the most playful bunny in the world. Mom, whom he loved the most, made sure he was taken care of just like one of her own children. Now my family had to do something very sad, we had to give away the rest of the bunnies because they were simply too much to take care of. Picking up the cages and putting them into our car to take them to a farm in New Jersey was one of the saddest moments of my childhood. Quickly, we left the farm and realized we still have our little Gimpy at home to love and take care of since he was injured. Right when we got home, the six years of love and joy began with our very first real pet! Spending every holiday with our little bunny was always a joy because he grew every year. Time after time Gimpy became older and older but was still full of joy running around outside and inside of the house. Usually, Gimpy would go outside every morning, afternoon, and night to do his daily digging holes around the house. Valentine’s day was his last last holiday before he pasted. While living a good 6 years, it was time for him to go. X-rays showed his little bones, and you could see the eye infection which could not be fixed. Yearning his life to be longer, it was time that we put him down on October 13th, 2008. Zealous bunny that he was, my family will never, ever forget him.

ReplyDeleteA short time ago, LuLing decided to throw a party. Boo Radley was invited, and surprisingly, he showed up. Cautiously, LuLing took his hat and brought him into the living room and offered him a glass of punch. Doorbell rang, and she graciously excused herself from the socially awkward man’s presence. “’Ello,” Pi said. Frankly, he was about a million times more awkward then Boo, because he had just spent a very long time alone on an island. “Good to see you LuLing,” he said before he joined Boo in the other room. “Hello,” Precious Auntie sang as LuLing opened the door. “In my house, Precious Auntie?!” Joyfully, she gave her very missed aunt a hug. Killed was how the girls found Pi in the living room, because Boo often kills people when he feels in danger. Lamely excusing himself, Boo ran out of the house. “Move the body before it gets weird,” LuLing told her aunt. Nevertheless, the doorbell rang again. Opening the door, it was discovered that Atticus was at the door. “Party hostess extraordinaire, you are. Quadrilaterals even know it’s important for even the greatest American lit hero to take a break.” Regaining composure, LuLing was surprised by his confidence but then sat with him in the other room with Precious Auntie and Pi’s body. “Surely I could remove that for you,” Atticus said of the body. The women were grateful when he took the corpse with him and left. Unlucky fate for sure, the doorbell rang again. “Very nice to see you again.” When Okonkwo walked in he said this. Xenophobic tribal leader of Africa, he suddenly felt very afraid and threatened by the Asian women so he ran out of the house. “You are a very strange person.” Zealously she shut the door and went back to the party.
Allan’s friend had just died. Bart was 67 years old and still kicking when he passed away in his sleep, his wife Cassandra at his side. Cassandra had one hell-of-a-wakeup call the morning after; the neighbors had never heard someone scream so loudly. Despite his untimely end, Allan knew that it was Bart’s time. Every subtle nuance in Bart’s behavior had been a clue that the end was near. From the random shouting to pointless arguments sparked over the most insignificant problems, Bart’s dementia was finally getting the best of him. Good thing the local police had confiscated his license- Bart would have been deadly on the road.
ReplyDeleteHaving a life like Bart’s was something that Allan always sought after. In their childhood years, Bart was always the brave one. Jumping the creek on his bike at age seven made Bart a local celebrity among the other neighborhood kids. Katherine Seagull, our third grade teacher, thought that Bart was the smartest kid in the school. Learning was easy with Ms. Katherine; her kind and forgiving nature made her a real gem. Maybe it also helped that she wasn’t too hard on the eyes, if you know what I’m saying.
No school could hold Bart for too long. Once high school was over, Bart headed to the University of Pennsylvania and Allan followed him every step of the way. Penn was the school of Allan’s dreams, and to go there with his best friend meant that life was sweet. Quaint classrooms and the beautifully historic campus soon became the backdrop for what would be Bart’s demise.
Right around his third year of college, Bart started to hit rock bottom. Soon, he started turning to drugs to help with his everyday issues. Taking a hit once in a while wasn’t a big deal, but Allan was there for all of the bad trips and hangovers the morning after. Under Allan’s care and supervision, Bart made it through college and received his bachelor’s degree in computer sciences. Vaingloriously, he made his way into the working world, and it was then that the two said good-bye. With a weak smile and a strong handshake, Bart and Allan parted ways for what would end up being more than 40 years.
Xeroxed copies of Bart’s picture were on a nearby table, staring blankly at the ceiling as the mourning dressed in black made their way to the pews. Yesterday, Bart was just a distant memory from a life Allan had left behind. Zealot, druggie, or dead- Bart would always be Allan’s friend.
After the party people were heading home because they were tired. Brenda got into his Chevy Impala and was about to drive down the street. Carla called her to get a ride home. Driving down the street they were listening to some pop music. Eventually they hit traffic. Finally words broke the sound of the music and the silence between them.
ReplyDelete“Girl how did you get to the party?” Brenda asked.
“Huh, oh, my mom drove me.” Carla said.
“I would have driven you over if you called me.” Brenda said.
“Just wanted to talk to my mom.” Carla said.
“Kill me! I hate traffic!” Brenda exclaimed.
“Look it is starting to clear up.” Carla said as she pointed ahead.
“Move cars!” Brenda said insistently.
“Now calm down.” Carla said calmly.
“Ok. I will.” Brenda said.
People started to start moving and fast. Quickly Brenda speeded up. Right away they got off of the expressway and on their way home.
“Should I take a left on this street to you house?” Brenda asked.
“Toward that street then a left.” Carla said.
“Under my umbrella-ella-ella-ella” Brenda sang.
Visually it was hard to see because to was getting really dark out. When Carla got out of the car, Brenda watched her to make sure she got to the front door.
“Why am I going to my house? I am supposed to go to my cousin’s house.” Brenda said to herself.
Zooming down the street Brenda got to her cousin’s house, then went to sleep.

ReplyDeleteThe Movie Theater
All the people of Ambler loved to watch movie. Barry, the janitor of the theater was the most devout watcher. Carefully, he read every newspaper to figure out what movie he should see. Dante’s Inferno was the choice last week. Each week had to be something different. For this week he chose The Wizard of Oz. Gary, his neighbor, wanted to come along. He normally hated movies but this one was an exception. In the past, movies used to make him cry all alone in his bed at night. Just this one time, he decided to have a change of heart. Killingworth, the other friend of Barry, came along too. Like the best of friends, these guys were.
Meanwhile Barry’s wife tried to stop them. Never had she seen a movie and never would she. Obsequiously she agreed for today was also Barry’s birthday. Peachy was the color of the movie theater, and peachy were the three men. Quite discretely, they went into the movie theater for they were afraid of being teased. Rightfully known was it that The Wizard of Oz was not a movie for older men. So the movie began and they enjoyed it. The yellow brick road and the wizard were wonderful. Under their smiling faces was mountains of popcorn which they ate as they loved the movie. Vagabonds soon crowded into the theater and Barry and his friends were terrified. With all their popcorn and money they escaped before the vagabonds attacked them.
X-men were Barry’s favorite comics and that’s what was next week’s movie. You would never guess that by looking at him but it was true. Zealously Barry kept up the tradition.
As I walked along the pathway in the park, I began to hear a very strange noise. Because I was listening to music, it was difficult for me to make out what it was. Carefully, I removed my iPod, and listened for the noise again. Down, at the bottom of the hill I knew the town was having a fair, so I inferred that that was where the noise was coming from. Everyone at the fair seemed like they were having a lot of fun, so I decided to check it out. Frank, my brother, was working at the hotdog stand. Generously, he gave me a free one. He is a very kind and bighearted guy; everyone enjoys his presence. I think he is the best brother in the world. Jokingly, I went over again to see if I could get another free hotdog. Kevin, my other brother snuck in front of me and got his second hotdog before me. Lovingly, he gave me his hotdog. My mother, who was watching from afar, thought this action was so unlike Kevin. Not many times has Kevin been so kind and giving. On the contrary, Kevin is usually mean and unreasonable. People think he is quite the snob. Questionably, I took his hotdog and thought to myself if I should really take it because he may start to get very angry. Remembering how Kevin always gets angry when people do that, I decided to take the hotdog, and began to eat it. Slowly, I walked away from Kevin and walked towards the dunk tank. Ten people were in line to throw the ball, so I decided I would wait a little until the line went down. Usually they have many games and activities at the fair, but this year was different. Very many people came to the fair last year, but it seemed like there were about half the people there this year. Wandering around, I decided to go home because I wasn’t having much fun. X-Ray, my dog, ran through the door of my house in excitement to see me. Yesterday was X-Ray’s birthday. Zealously, he was playing with all the new toys we got him all day.

ReplyDeleteThe Kung Fu Master
Sejin was a dedicated student of martial master Lee. Today, Sejin felt the dark side of Yang creep up on him. Under the moonlight, he saw his master get utterly defeated by an old foe.
"Vile Serpent! How dare you murder my master!"
"Why, if it isn't the young disciple."
Xavier, then, an old friend of Sejin, appeared along Serpent.
"You traitor! After all we've been through as friends."
Zealously he responded, "Good bye weakling."
And then the two disappeared into the darkness. Boiling with hot blood, Sejin swore to avenge his dead master. Cold wind of the winter weather whipped Sejin's beaten body as he trained twice as harder everyday. During the training, Sejin sometimes felt like giving up but the thought of avenging his master deemed every pain necessary. Everyday, Sejin underwent ridiculous amount of traning by climbing huge mountains and running 30 miles a day. Finally, Sejin felt ready to face Serpent and his old friend, Xavier.
"God help me avenage my enemies." said Sejin as he marched his way to Serpent's castle. Hours later, Sejin reached his destination. Internally and externally pumped, Sejin dashed to the top of the castle where he finally met with his two enemies.
"Justice will prevail!" yelled Sejin as he landed a deadly punch on Xavier. Knocked out, Xavier lied cold on the ground. Little after, Sejin defeated Serpent and avenged his master. Mourning for his master, Sejin then kneeled on the ground and let tears drop down his cheeks.
"Never shall I forget the deeds you taught me, master." said Sejin.
Over 20 years passed now and Sejin became the Kung Fu Master. Power that Sejin possessed was insuperable and many people asked how he became so strong.
"Quest in hunger for strength." replied Sejin. Raindrops then fell on Sejin from the heavenly sky.
At the moment Blake and Cassandra laid eyes on each other, both of their lives changed. Blake had been working at the docks making a meager wage to support his meager lifestyle. Cassandra had gotten lost one the way to the new French seaside restaurant, La Page. Despite the greasy, dirty appearance of the dock, she made the decision to approach a tanned young man with an incredibly toned physique and piercing blue eyes for directions. Exceptionally rare is it to find “love at first sight”. For these two young souls, however, it was very real and discovered upon the first meeting of their eyes on the dock that day. Great metaphorical sparks flew between the two opposites. Her car was a Mercedes; and his a Ford Ranger. Instant chemistry was felt, despite both of their cognition to the fact that they were so different and would not be accepted. Just as they reached out their hands for each other to grasp, a loud, ominous voice boomed in to wreck the stillness of their meeting. Killing the euphoric mood was Blake’s boss, a gruff and stern fisherman by the name of Roger Gregg. Love was not lost, however. Many days passed with many visits to the dock on the part of Cassandra. No weather was able to stop her from diligently visiting Blake at work, nor could any holler from Roger Gregg. On other occasions Blake would sneak to her house in the middle of the night so as to not be seen by her judgmental parents. Parents such as Cassandra’s were of old money and wished to see her daughter wed to a man of equally old money. Quiet and agile were his motions in the dark garden sneaking to her first-floor window. Rather than face her parents and deal with possible rejection, the two lovers kept up the sneaky game. Surprisingly, the two found this dance to be somewhat sexy and exciting. To their detriment, however, Esmeralda, the night maid, caught them on one warm July night about six months after their initial meeting. Under her suspicion the two had to cease their meetings for a time. Very seldom did they see each other for like 6 weeks. With this distance between them, Blake’s heart ached worse than his muscles after working a long time at the dock. X. Yearning and pain became too much for him. Zest and spunk led him to throwing caution to the wind and finally approaching her parents.
ReplyDeleteA long time ago in a galaxy far far away there existed a man named Billy Bob. Billy Bob was a very exuberant and energetic person. Crazy people inhabited the world that Billy Bob lived in and their world was much different than the one that we know today. Dogs and cats got along. Everyone enjoyed waking up early in the morning. Friendly people were easy to find, this world was crazy. Getting back to Billy Bob, Billy was a world famous hot dog eating champion. Hot dog eating was taken very seriously in this world, so for him to be a champion was very special. Impressive as he may have been not many people really got a long with Billy Bob. Joking around and making fun of Billy Bob is what every one did. King Zenon, the ruler of all of the land, had Billy Bob come entertain him. Luxury is what Billy Bob expected so he always went to see the king. One day the King asked Billy Bob to be in a contest and if he won, the king told him that his life would be changed for ever. Pleased with this special request Billy Bob agreed to do the contest because like any greedy stupid person, he wanted riches rather than being concerned with his own well being. Queasiness came upon Billy Bob when he found out what the contest entailed. Rabid tigers were involved with the contest along with man eating crocodiles. Suddenly the contest began, Billy Bob had to go through an incredibly dangerous obstacle course and if he won the race against ten other men, than he would be smothered with gold. Typically Billy Bob would be a coward and punk out but he wanted to be rich and have every one stop making fun of him. Unlike the other contestants Billy Bob was extremely out of shape and fat so there was not a great chance that he would win. Vinny, the most well liked contestant by all of the fans took the lead in the very beginning. When the part with the crocodiles came however, he was quickly eaten up. Xavier was the nest person to take the lead but the rabid tiger attacked him and he could not get away. Years ago if a fat person won a race it would be a very big deal. Zenon the king then cried when fat Billy Bob won the contest and beat all of his best contestants.

ReplyDeleteZebras are the most unique animals on planet Earth. Although most people see them as herbivores, some Zebras are actually carnivorous, eating man and lions alike. Black and white stripes distinguish them between friend and foes and their stripes is a sign of danger to man and animal alike. Cattles are closely related to Zebras, their black and white dots resemble the zebra’s stripes and therefore zebras tend not to go near the cattle. Dominance as some scientists suspect might play a part in this behavior. Elephants however will be the biggest prey the Zebras hunt in the savannas. Flying at the top speed of 90 knots per hour, the zebras hunt the elephants relentlessly until the entire elephant pack is destroyed. Gorillas are able to protect the elephants and they tend to stick together to fend off zebra packs. Hundreds and thousands of elephants are killed each year by the zebras and they are nearing their extinction. Inhumane attempts in quelling the zebra population have not been helpful. Joining the two closely related breeds of zebra and cattle in hopes of destroying both populations have caused a backfire creating a new species called Zecattle. Knowing that the new species Zecattle will bring forth doom to all species in the world, scientists created a drug that will infect the Zecattles only wiping out all the hybrids leaving the humans back at step one in quelling the zebra population. Left at square one, the scientists proceed to a new invention called the Zebra killer. Many attempts in using the Zebra killer have been futile. No results have been ever been published making many think that this is not the solution to limiting the zebra population. On the other hand, some scientists still think that this invention can still work if given a little more time. Patrick Johansoon Einstein believes that the Zebra killer will work if the correct fission of Hydrogen and Zebra skin was achieved. Quelling the Zebras is still an impossible task for humans. Rehab has been established for those who have experienced trauma from these fearsome creatures. Some have even died from the traumas, causing entire nations in Africa to be in fear of these zebras. To some of these nations, the zebras are seen as god and they offer sacrifices every so often to the packs that travel around. Unwillingly, some sacrifices are left to die as entertainment for the zebras causing many scientists to think that they are an intelligent form of species. Varying sound waves have been detected from these dangerous carnivores as their tool for communication. Without a doubt these are the most dangerous and most intelligent form of animals humans have ever seen before. X-rays of dead zebras show that they are cute and fuzzy animals. Yet these dangerous Zebras are killing millions of humans and animals alike every year.

ReplyDeleteDriver’s Permit
Avery had recently moved away from all she knew. Bucks County, that was the name of her new place of residence. Crying, she locked herself up in her room. During this period, her parents knocked on her door, begging her to let them in. Eventually she succumbed, but only because her parents made her a promise. Finally, they would let her get her driver’s permit. “ Great,” she thought, “They do this when I have no one to brag to about it.”
However, her parents continually came up with excuses to take her to the DMV for the next two weeks. Ice rink visits and trips to the zoo were showered upon Avery, but she still did not go to get her permit. Juggling her choices, she feared all these nice gifts would end if she brought up her parent’s promise again. Karaoke was the last straw. Listlessly, she intercepted her parents before they left for work.
“Mom, Dad, didn’t you say I could get my driver’s permit?”
“Now, now, honey, you will, just get settled to your new environment first,” her dad replied.
“Opportunities surround you everywhere, and you’ll miss out on them if you’re always driving around in a car,” her mother preached.
Peeved, Avery returned to her room. Quarantining herself from the rest of the world of her own free will, she took out a present her aunt gave her last Christmas. Racecars weren’t really her thing, so she had never even looked at the model before, but it was probably the closest thing to driving she’d ever get to in this house. Speeding across her dresser, she supplied zooming noises for the small vehicle. Teetering over the edge, she made the car win an imaginary race with an imaginary winner’s circle. Unaware that her parent’s hadn’t already left for work, she thought she could get away with skipping her first day of school for these useless amusements.
“Venial sins are forgivable, Avery,” her father yelled, “but only being late falls under that category, go to school.”
“Wait,” she groaned, “I’ll be down in a minute, but I’d probably be able to get to school on time if I could drive.”
“Xerox will fire me if I don’t leave now, but you better keep your promise if you even want me to consider letting you drive, ever.”
Yearning to defy her parents until she got her way but knowing she couldn’t, she prepared for school solemnly. Zymosis was the one word she thought over when she found her moss-covered backpack, and so she reconsidered her options again.

ReplyDeleteThe Sleepover
Amanda Grace Ran and Jane are four friends. Best friends actually. Caring and loving they are, and they always hang out with each other every week. Day by day they wait to go over each other's house on the weekends, and to watch movies at the theaters. Eating is what they love to do while talking and making each other laugh. Fighting was unacceptable in their friendship dictionary and they hardly ever fought. Going to places such as the mall was their favorite hobby, shopping. Happily they greet each other everyday. In the summer Grace decides to host a sleepover party and invites all of us. Jumping on the beds and hitting ourselves with the pillows, "pillow fight." Keeping up with the latest gossip talking at night until 11:00 pm. Later, Jane decides to make pizza but accidentally the pizza burns and the oven is set on fire. "Mom Mom!!" Grace yells "what do we do? our oven is burning!"
"no no! you didnt put pam on the pan and now the pizza is stuck to the pan!"
"Oh my ,,,, what have you guys done?" Her mother says.
"Pam? I totally forgot!" answered Jane.
Quesadillas is good why dont we make quesadillas instead? said ran
Right then grace's father comes down angrily, and doesn't like what we did to their oven. So we all apologize to him and he goes back to sleep leaving us with the mess that we had to clean up.
"Tomorrow morning lets not decided to make anything in our oven because I'm afraid were going to burn our oven again." said grace.
"ummm okay" we all answered
"very very nice then ,,,, lets just clean up and go to sleep."
"woah im very tired today ,,, i think im going to have to take an xray on my finger because I think i burned it." said jane
"yea i think you should, we'll go tomorrow." said amanda
"Zebras! i think that is what i want to dream of today :)" said grace
Thats how the sleepover ended, with Jane burning the oven.

ReplyDeleteZid was a bright boy and his parents loved him. A year after he was born, he was already considered one of the few children in the world who was considered a genius. Before he was born, his mother got into a horrible nuclear accident and the doctors said that her child might be different. "Cindy, the doctor said that our might be a little different." said Zid's father. Dean was the name of Zid's father and he was a father that anyone would love to have. Exercising everyday, Dean was an extremely healthy man and never got sick. From the city, Dean was a very social man and got along well with everyone. Going from city to city, Dean traveled throughout the United States until he met Cindy. However, Dean had a difficult time getting his charm to work on Cindy. In the end, Dean knew that Cindy was the only woman he would love and decided to marry her. Joining hands at their wedding, the two couple made their vows and created a family. Kent, Dean's brother, helped Dean by buying a house for Dean and his wife. Lifting boxes out of the moving truck, Dean and his wife settled into their new home. Momentarily, life was hard for the young couple, but as time went on life became easier. Nine months later, Cindy gave birth to Zid and a family of two became a family of three. Obviously special, Zid was sent to the best school in the world when he was in middle school. Pale and timid, Zid went to his new school. Questioning was the first step process that the principal of the school used to get to know his new students and used that to get to know Zid. Resting in the comfortable leather chair, the principal made small chat with Zid about how Zid's life has been so far. Seven years have passed by since that talk with the principal and Zid was now in high school. Turning heads as he walked, Zid was not considered one of the geniuses of the world -- only at the age of 15! Ultimately graduating as the valedictorian of his high school, Dean and Cindy were proud of their son. Very passionate, Zid wanted to revolutionize the world into a better world. Winning nobel prizes for peace and science, Zid was constantly watched by governments all over the world. X-raying Zid's brain, scientists in the future studied Zid's brain to see how such a genius was born. "Your zidtastic" was now a term used in the year 2100 to honor the genius, Zid.
Thanksgiving Holiday
ReplyDeleteAround this time every year my favorite holiday arrives. Because thanksgiving falls on the last Thursday of November this year it will be on my birthday. Cake is my favorite thing about my birthday. Downstairs right now my mom is making me a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Every year I ask for the same cake. First lets talk about our thanksgiving holiday. Grandma makes the turkey every year. Her turkey is always the best because she always adds a secret ingredient. I always ask her what the ingredient is but she never tells me. Jack, my cousin, always tells me that the secret is love. Krista says he just kidding but I believe him. Love is always a secret ingredient that makes every thing better. My aunt Linda always has thanksgiving dinner at her house. Nick my neighbor always stops by and says hello. Only this thanksgiving he cannot because he is traveling to see his family. Pie is what my aunt Karen always brings for dessert. Queen her daughter always asks for pumpkin pie, so that is what she always makes. Raspberry pie is my favorite though but she never makes that any more. Stuffing is my all time favorite thing about thanksgiving. Tina my cousin makes the best, she adds all this extra stuff in it but I don’t what it is. Undecided about whether or not I will eat the mashed potatoes because I might not have enough room on my plate for it. Visiting my great aunt is also alot of fun. We bring her the wishing bone every year. X-ray room is where we found her she broke her foot. Yesterday she said she fell down the stairs. Zach said she was just getting old and is having a hard time walking.
Agupi, a freshman girl who just moved from Boston, was a cheerful and spirited girl. On her first day of Cheerio High school, she bumped into a guy named Dino. Apologizing, Agupi asked Dino to go out sometimes. Dino already dating Evila, refused. Flaming with anger Agupi did not back down. She follwed him around all during school and even stalked him. Gradually Dino felt Agupi was being serious about her feelings and became close friends with her...............to be continued
ReplyDeleteAmy wanted to buy a big dress for Matt. But, Matt hated dress. Carl knew about this, and he was struggling that whether he should tell Amy that Matt hated dress or not. David went to mall with Amy to buy dress for Matt. Emily came along to buy a dress for her own too. Fine dresses were too expensive, and Amy started to think that whether she should buy a dress for matt or not.
ReplyDelete“God, I don’t know what else to buy matt for his birthday!”, Amy shouted.
“How about a surprise party instead?”, Emily suggested.
“I think surprise party is better than buying him a dress too”, David also suggested.
“Jane said Matt hated surprise parties though”, Amy said with sorrow.
“Kevin said Matt loved surprise parties though…”, Emily said with confusion.
“Let’s go home and we will discuss it on the way home”, then everyone left to home.
Matt was playing basketball at school.
“Now, what should we do. Just go Matt’s home and prepare a surprise party?”, Amy asked.
“Oh well, I guess we could”, Emily said indifferently.
“Peace. I have to go home and help my mom prepare for guests today.” David left.
“Quiet! David, you cannot go home. You have to help us”, Emily said firmly.
“Really…. No. I don’t think so. I have to go home, or my mom will kill me”, David just left like that.
“Shoot! David is such a mama’s boy. We need more people that can help us…”, Amy didn’t know what to do.
“Timmy? How about Timmy? I’m sure Timmy can help us”, Emily said with excitement.
“Um…. Sure”.
“Vora can also help us I bet”.
“We should buy food and drinks and meet at Matt’s house”, Amy suggested and everyone went to buy things that they were supposed to buy.
Xylophone store had everything in this story. Young generation of Mr. Xylophone built the store about 1500 years ago, and it still existed. Zack Xylophone was now the owner, and everyone bought what they needed at the Xylophone store, and the party was successful; Matt loved it.
“And we welcome into our midst, a woman that has inspired us to persevere even in the most difficult times, Doyin Ijualu.” Baffled by the high honor bestowed upon me, I walked sheepishly unto the wooden stage decorated with tangerine beads and traditional clothes with prints of swirls and complex designs. Crystal lights bathed the auditorium in a celestial cloud welcoming this marveled African goddess. Doyin Ijualu, the accomplished survivor of the Congo tribal wars. Evidently, my life story was a fantasy that tickled the minds of those that envisioned a tribal, bloodstained continent with no motivation other than annihilation and poverty. Feverishly, I took the microphone from my announcer, who’s expression seemed to be telling me, “You are a hero to us all, I can’t believe all that you’ve gone through as a young woman.” Gone through, lived through, endured, witnessed. Ha! I had not gone through anything; I was and am still going through the memories and the present situations that have been handed down to me from my past. Immersed in a self-commiserating stage, I began my story.
ReplyDelete“Just to start off, thank you for having me here; I am truly honored to be given such an award for something I did not accomplish, but have lived through to tell the story about. Keeping my sanity in a world of chaos and total anarchy was my greatest challenge growing up as a young girl in Congo. Living in a small hut made of clay and water, I was an adolescence filled with ambitions and dreams of becoming a well-to-do woman in my society, like my father who was the chief of my tribe.” Moving uneasily, I progressed. “ Never in my wildest dreams did I envision a woman torn between the claws of poverty and the live of an orphan.
Grace Park
ReplyDeleteAmanda, Grace, Ran, and Jane are planning to go to the movie theaters. Because it is their ‘girl’s night out’, they did not allow any of their brothers to come.
“Can’t I just come along and watch the movie?” asked Grace’s little brother Shaun.
“Don’t even think about it Shaun,” answered Grace.
Even though Shaun tried everything he can to go and watch the movie with them, the answer was always “No.” Frustrated by his sister’s reaction, Shaun decides to prank them. Grace was in her room getting ready to hang out with her BFFs, while Shaun was in the kitchen doing something mysteriously. He seemed to be happy with his job and sat on the sofa quickly as Grace came down to get a drink of water.
“I’m so excited to watch New Moon!! Jacob cut his hair in this one so he must look so much better than Twilight!” said Grace with excitement.
Kindly, Shaun offered Grace a glass of water. Liking the fact that her brother seemed to be over about the whole movie thing, she took the water and drank it. More than ever, was Shaun happy that his sister was going to drink the vinegar, the tip of his lips went up.
“Never mind, I don’t want to drink water anymore,” said Grace.
Once again, Shaun was frustrated. Putting away the glass full of vinegar, he tried to think of another prank. Quickly, he ran upstairs to his sister’s room. Running up the stairs, he looked so happy as if he was a 5 year old that has a cookie.
Suddenly, the door bell rang and Grace went to get the door. There were her best friends waiting for her to come out.
“Urrrggg, why are they here so early?” thought Shaun.
“Very nice, you’re all ready to go Grace!” yelled Ran.
“What time are you coming back at?” asked Shaun.
“Zebras! They’re everywhere! They’ll bring the end of us all!”
ReplyDeleteA gust of leaves blew by as a maniac ran past, tattered clothing flapping in the wind. Behind him he left a wake of confusion, and already I could tell this was going to be an interesting field trip. Class trips were always welcome in my book. Days where any amount of school is missed tend to be good days. Every minute I was away from the monotony of a typical school day was a minute greatly cherished.
Finally breaking out of my reverie, I took in my surroundings. Gazing like a tourist, I marveled at the splendor of the Chicago streets. How many times had I dreamed of returning? I remember the days of my youth when I strolled this city with my family in my quiet naïveté.
Just then, I felt a tap on my shoulder. Kim pointed towards the crazy man from earlier.
“Look, didn’t we just see him? Man, he ran around the entire block in no time. Next stop: sprinting hall of fame! Olympics 2012!”
Psychos in the Olympics? Questionable, but it wouldn’t be the first time it happened. Raucous laughter erupted from others nearby, some of who were in my class. Standing there aimlessly were Shyam and Teresa. The two seemed to be arguing about something.
“Up yours, Teresa!”
“Very mature. Who taught you that one? xXx was the worst movie ever, get over it.”
Yelling ferociously, Shyam and Teresa went back and forth, and I realized the psycho from earlier wasn’t the craziest person in the city at the moment.

ReplyDeleteAmanda, Jane, Ran, and Grace went to a Thanksgiving party at Cathy’s house. Being best friends, they went everywhere together. Cathy welcomed her four friends when they arrive. Delicious foods and beverages were provided by Cathy and her parents, and the five girls ate the food while talking. Eric, Cathy’s brother, suddenly came downstairs in a turkey costume and started to dance. First, he ran around the room, and then he started to dance hip hop and then made all the girls dance along with him. Grace, out of all the girls, danced the most and seemed like she was having more fun than Eric. Half an hour later, the five girls and Eric were exhausted from all of the running and dancing especially Grace. It was 8:30pm and the girls wanted to watch a scary movie. Jane brought a movie called Saw II and was about to turn it on when Ran suddenly asked, “Are there a lot of killing in this movie?”
“Killing is one of the most scenes that come out in this movie,” answered Jane as she turned on the movie on Cathy’s laptop.
“Lower the screen,” said Amanda as she sat on the bed.
“Make some popcorn!” exclaimed Jane to Cathy as she lowered the screen.
“Next time, let’s watch a comedy,” said Cathy as she went to the kitchen to make popcorn.
“Oh my Gosh! Please turn off the movie!” yelled Ran.
“Quiet! Ran you are such a baby,” replied Cathy. Saw II, was too scary for Ran to watch so, she decided to go to the living room to watch tv. The television had many movies that weren’t scary and so Ran went to the guide to see what movies were on.
“Up!!” Ran exclaimed as she turned to movie on.
My name is Jo-Anne. Nobody has ever called me by my full name Jo-Anne. Only one person calls me by my full name, and that is a person I do not enjoy seeing, my grandmother. People always call me Jo. Questions always arise about my name when I introduce myself. Rude people sometimes ask, “Why do you have a boys name? You know Jo’s a boys name right?” So, when they say that, I say, “I don’t really care. I like my name, Jo. It’s better than Jo-Anne.” Teachers typically think my name is cool because there aren’t many girls that have the name Jo. Usually they don’t say anything about it, by some of my teachers have expressed interest in my name. When they do, I feel noticed and appreciated. Xavier, a boy in my class also gets recognition for his name. Zara hasn’t. At a time, when I was really young, my mom decided to call me Jo. Baba, my grandmother, had named me, but my mother never like the name Jo-Anne. Checks are also written with my full name, so I guess my grandmother isn’t the only one. Daniel, my baby brother actually calls me “Do”, because he can’t say “Jo” yet. Everyone thinks it’s adorable. Few people have tried to correct him because it’s too cute. Grandmother insists that he learn how to say my full name, whenever she visits. He just can’t pronounce the “J”, yet. I have no objection to Daniel calling me “Do” because I think it’s cute too. Just a few weeks ago, Baba had visited, and I cringed every time I heard my whole name. "K", I said every time she called me. Little did I know that she would be coming today too.

ReplyDeleteClaire was at the Phillies game and it was raining. Drops of water fell on her head, but she was just glad they weren’t foul balls. Every crack of the bat made her jump in her seat. Finally, she said to her brother, “I’ve had enough!” and went to the bathroom.
Glad to be where the terrifying ball could not reach her, she awkwardly stood in a corner of the bathroom. Having been asked over and over if she was standing in line for the bathroom, Claire had to leave.
“I can’t go back out there – I’m too scared of the ball,” thought Claire.
Just to waste time, she got in the longest food line then left it when she got to the front. Kim Kardashian walked by with a huge tray of food, reminding Claire that she really was hungry. Looking at the menu on the wall, she stood at the end of the line. Most of the food was too expensive, but since her brother had forced her to attend this horrid event she spent most of his money. Not slow enough, she bought her food and grudgingly walked back to her seat to eat.
Only when she got there, her brother was gone! Poor Claire had nobody to protect her in case a foul ball came her way! Quickly, she put the food down and ran back up to the concourse. Running was not an option in the thick crowds so she did her best speed walking to find her brother. Soon she saw him standing in line for the bathroom.
“The men’s room has a line? Unbelievable, that you would wait this long instead of finding another bathroom!” exclaimed Claire.
Vera Bradley patterns suddenly caught Claire’s eye. What luck, a wallet dropped by some crazy baseball fan! X-ray vision was not necessary to know that there was money inside. Yelping for joy, Claire used the money to buy even more food before dropping the wallet back near where she found it. Zac Efron proposing to her could not have made her happier than when she sat down to eat her food and saw white tarp over the field. A rain delay was in effect for the next hour! Before long, the game was called due to the inclement weather and Claire got to go home.

A man named David was relaxing outside. By the pond he was sitting. Casting his line back into the pond is was what he was doing. Dave was a rather simple fellow who enjoyed relaxing and spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and playing video games. Earlier that day (1:00 am), David had a very traumatic experience. Flames rose from the lampshade in his room. Gary, Dave’s best friend was sleeping over. Happily, they came upstairs after playing video games for hours. Into his bed Dave crept and he made his friend sleep on the floor. Jamming music was unexplainably coming from Dave’s alarm clock. “Karate punch”, Dave yelled as he hit his alarm clock as hard as he could. Little did Dave and Gary know, they alarm clock collided with the lamp, and the light broke and caught fire. Modern Warfaren, which they played for hours, made them to delirious to even notice such a thing. Neither Dave nor Gary even smelled the smoke that was coming from the burning lampshade that had caught fire. Out of nowhere, Gary woke up because he subconsciously remembered that he had to Brush his teeth. “Pie hole!,” shouted Dave which woke up Gary. Quick Gary, help me put out this fire you fool. “Run, go get some water Gary!” said Dave. Spazzing out was Dave, he didn’t know what to do. Time was of the essence, he knew he had to hurry or his entire house would likely burn down. Under his bed a health safety guide titled, “X Safety” was sticking out that he received all the way back in 6th grade on career day. Visions of terrible rushed through Davids mind. Way in the corner of Dave’s room was a trashcan, his eyes lit up. the safety book jogged his memory. “X safety” jogged his memory and he ran to get the tin trashcan and he put it over the flames. “Yes”, shouted Dave, the flames are going out. Zealously, Dave threw his arms in the air and decided he would go fishing in the morning to celebrate himself and to relieve his stress.
ReplyDeleteRaindrops slammed into the grass as Matt walked out of the huddle. As he looked up at the scoreboard, he felt like he was in a bad dream; it was 28-24, and there was only time for one last play. Xavier, his best receiver, looked over at him, and the desperation in his eyes only exacerbated the doubt in Matt’s mind. Scanning the field, he saw that the defense was sitting back and daring him to throw the ball deep; he needed 30 yards to score the miracle touchdown. Matt had almost laughed out loud when he say what play the coach had called. Q 53 was its name, and it had only been practiced once throughout the year. Usually, teams tried to throw a desperation deep pass on the last play. “Jamming it into the end zone” was what it was called. Coach had instead installed a trick play in which players handed the ball of to each other immediately after they got it. The idea was to wear down the defense by making them run around until they got extremely tired and sluggish. However, it was risky because one of the offensive players would always try to create something out of nothing and try to be the hero. On game day, Coach always stressed that it was important to play smart; it was a message that had been instilled in the team since training camp. With this in mind, Matt snapped out of his reverie and once again focused on the defense. Blowing into his hands to keep them warm, he pointed at the defense’s main formation. Yelling at his offensive line, Matt decided to make a quick pass to catch the defense off guard. Lollygagging, the defense would not be able to catch up to the receivers. Planting his foot in the ground, Xavier signaled that he would break inside and he would be open. Nodding, Matt finally hiked the ball and dropped back. Dirt covered his hands, and the ball was slippery in his hand. Inadvertently slipping on the wet grass, Matt got up and was dazed. Kaki pants were flying everywhere, and he could not see anything clearly. Gagging, Matt dimly recognized Xavier’s jersey number and threw it in his direction. Floating lazily in the air, the ball eventually dropped into Xavier’s hands. “ Zigzagging to his right, he looked to lateral the ball, but no one was there. Eagerly, Xavier rushed into the end zone. Victory!
